Not mean…no, definitely one of the common point of views amongst other millions out there. There’s both positives and negatives about Lin leaving or Lin staying, no doubt about it.
Everyone will have their own reasons and opinions on why they want Lin to stay/go or why Lin should stay/go (yes, there’s a difference). Doesn’t mean anyone’s opinion is right or wrong or superior than others.
The bottomline is, we’re all making all of these judgments and opinions based from what we read/hear/observe from the media, speculations and interpretations from interactions of the players and secondary unknown “sources”.
Do we know exactly what’s happening behind the scenes? Do we know these players personally? How can we even tell what they are feeling or what their intentions are in the first place?
These are all merely subjective opinions and pontifications. Eventually, whatever happens, depends on the Knicks Management’s decision with Lin’s agency. And only God knows what goes on in Dolan & Grunwald’s heads at this stage.
I’m just appalled and amazed by the huge mess and drama surrounding this case. Fans fighting with each other, taking sides, backbiting people whom they used to get along with, and slandering and bashing of players (FROM THE SAME TEAM!!??) just to try to prove their own points. Even the players themselves have gotten involved and made this an even bigger issue that it needs to. *facepalms* Wonder how it has all come to this?
Support whoever you want to support, be it the player or the team, or both, but there’s no need to bash and slander each other or the players. There can still be respect in discussions and if there’s no conclusion, just agree to disagree and be done with it! Honestly.
Just goes to show, that Jeremy Lin is INDEED an influential figure, no matter what detractors deny. That Time100 award is justified looking at all these hoopla surrounding him. Lol. ;)
One of the things i’m amused about are how people are all up in arms about him being paid that much. Regardless of whether he deserves/worth the money or not, (i’m definitely not entering into that debate), I have a feeling that Lin would probably use the money wisely to fund for his Jeremy Lin Foundation. So, since the price has been laid out by a team, now it all depends on whether it’s Houston or Knicks who’d want to open their chequebooks.
Honestly, can’t wait for Tuesday to come, so that all of this craziness can end and we’ll get to move on. Houston or Knicks, as a fan of Lin, just like with Fields, I’ll still be a fan and will support them wherever they choose to go, to whichever team that wants them for whatever they can contribute and to see them play basketball in the NBA. As said before, Raptors in Rockets wearing Knickerbockers if that’s what it comes to…~~
